Decorative Oars (Catfish & Bluegill)

Here is the final result of two illustrated objects I painted for a couple that wanted some 'different' paintings to hang in their house. These oars are painted in acrylic and are fully functional. The final layer is protectived in the same coating that keeps boat paint waterproof.

Baby Boston's Carraige Mural

This mural was done in a client's nursery in preparation of their newest baby girl (due the month they hired me!). The design stage went off without a hitch and we quickly agreed on this final design. Which was very lucky as Baby Boston arrived the week after I finished!

The client also hired me for the second work not shown, she decided last second that she wanted a portrait of the soon-to-be family and I offered to create it in the same style and idea as the mural itself. She was very enthusiastic and we quickly arrived at the design for the second work. These commissions were a joy to work on! I hope she continues to enjoy them for several years to come!

Collaborative Illustrations

These illustrations were created in collaboration with a fellow artist and designer, Samantha Anderson. Samantha is a colleague whom I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with during my degree studies. She specializes in childrens' book style illustration and layout design. Her website is found here - http://www.smarieanderson.com/

In this project, we chose several excerpts from books and fables and worked together to create our own visual interpretations of these wonderful stories. In the examples below, we combined the use of digital and traditional media to create the main illustrations and then, for the final images, we wished to display them as they would be if they were bound in book form. So the illustrations sit, merged to blend with the words that inspired the images.

The following credit is given to the authors of these wonderful books and stories -

Edward Tulane and Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo

The Rabbits & the Frogs and The Lion & the Mouse, as found in Aesop's Fables

These are some examples from a wedding and bridal shower invite design set I created for a couple this past year. They wanted a light-hearted but elegant design based on an evening wedding. Here, I played off the chalkboard decorations that were going to be used as part of the food, cake and gift displays. Very sweet couple and great to work with!

Willow Creek Vine&Brew Label

These labels were created for use by a local winery/brewery. They asked for a small, clean label for their home-brewed beer and wine. Each of the bottles would also receive a personalized neck label that gives a short description of the product within.
